How are men’s highlights done?
Strands are picked out and lifted, usually with foils or freehand, leaving the base colour in place. The contrast is set by how many strands and how far they are lifted.
Why do highlights grow out better than full bleach?
Because the base is untouched, there is no line where the new growth meets the colour. It softens instead of showing a border.
How often do they need redoing?
Every six to ten weeks — far gentler than full bleach.
