What is a temple fade?
The barber tapers a narrow area at each temple and along the nape, usually squaring off the hairline at the same time. Nothing above or behind the temples is graduated. On afro-textured hair it is the classic way to keep a defined edge without cutting into the volume.
Who is a temple fade for?
Guys growing their hair out; guys with curls, coils or an afro who want definition without losing height; and anyone who wants to look freshly barbered without a visible haircut. It is also the most common “between cuts” tidy-up we do.
Is a temple fade the same as a line-up?
They usually travel together but they are different. A line-up (or edge-up) is the razor work that squares your hairline; the temple fade is the short graduation behind it. Ask for both if you want the full sharp finish, and your barber will do them in one hour.
