How tight can the curl be?
From a loose ringlet to a tight coil, set by rod size. Bring a photo; the rod is chosen from it.
Does the haircut change?
It has to. Curl shortens the apparent length and adds width, so the cut is planned around what the perm will do.
How is it maintained?
A curl cream or leave-in on damp hair, dried by diffuser or air. Ask your barber which product — curls are unforgiving about the wrong one.
